She is best known for her portrayal of Willie Scott, an American nightclub singer and performer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by her husband Steven Spielberg. She has starred in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw her portraits have been displayed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw, was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an employee at the airline. Capshaw moved to St. Louis, Missouri at the age five, and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School in 1972. Capshaw graduated from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught Special Education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
