Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons: a superstar who managed to seamlessly transition from the country music scene to making her an iconic popular icon, and sweeping the globe in the process. Swift is shedding her country roots like she was shedding skins for second purposes and has proven herself to be one of the smartest pop singer/songwriter of her time. She is able to take the zeitgeist of today and turn it into her unique. Swift's first hits, particularly the neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was beginning to discover herself, and finding a large audience. The album ended up with a lot of reach not just in the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's second album Speak Now, released almost two years after the previous one, built on this success. It helped propel Swift to superstardom. The next three years, Swift's popularity was growing through the years -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) -- as she entered a new arena of pop in which her talent was already established. Although she slowed down her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was in the forefront of pop music.
